Free C++ for Lego NXT

http://www.iar.com/website1/1.0.1.0/617/1/?item=art_art-s1/221&group=art_art_grp-s1/14

I think this is rather remarkable, and good for us all.

My experience on IAR toolchain has been good (around 2002-04) and I am
looking forward to trying this out.

Re: Free C++ for Lego NXT

"IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM special edition for LEGO is 128kB code limited and includes device support for Atmel AT91SAM7S256 with example projects specific for LEGO MINDSTORMS."

Unfortunately, it seems to be quite limited (although applicable for eLua in some minimal configuration).

Best,
Bogdan

Yes, except that it's got a 128K CODE limit, and to use the debugger
you have to open up the NXT and solder on a JTAG connector. :-(

I'd rather polish up my GDB stub and release a fully open source
toolchain :-)

Re: Free C++ for Lego NXT

Hi,

A nice product too for Elua is the Xmega from Atmel.

It is a simple low cost microcontroller with up to 256 K flash and 16 K RAM and address space for 16 Mbytes.

Thers is a nice evaluation board the "XPLAIN" with 4 mb RAM.

              Waiting for version 0.6   (-:

                           Best regards

                                  Georges
